A drug dealer has been jailed and a large quantity of class A drugs taken off the streets following a proactive operation by Met officers.
Mohammed Litton Miah, 33 (31.12.90), of Bethnal Green E2, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 5 March, and was sentenced at the same court on Tuesday, 9 April to eight years and three months’ imprisonment.
Detective Inspector Sam Bennett, whose team led the investigation said: “This investigation saw the team work restlessly to identify, arrest, charge and convict the drug runner of a class A drugs line responsible for supplying significant quantities of drugs across east London.
“The team seized a large amount of heroin and crack cocaine. Our work has led to Miah pleading guilty at an early stage due to overwhelming evidence
“Drugs are inextricably linked to violence and exploitation, causing misery in communities. We will continue to work with our communities and partners to disrupt the supply of drugs on our streets.”
An investigation into the drugs line was launched last year.
Officers used phone data to identify Miah as the owner of the line, linking him to the supply of over 3Kg of class A drugs.
This data-led work allowed Met officers to obtain a warrant at Miah’s address. When they entered they entered his home on 14 December 2023 they found over £20,000 of crack cocaine and heroin, burner phones and multiple designer watches, which officers believe he had been buying to launder the cash from his his ill-gotten gains.
Miah, who has previous convictions for drug offences, had been presenting himself as a successful businessman involved in luxury car rentals while running his drugs operation.
MIah was arrested and later charged.
