Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a series of sexual assaults within the Hackney Marshes area.
A number of reports of sexual touching over clothing have been reported between March and August. The last reported offence was on 7 August.
It is alleged that the person responsible is targeting lone women and touching them over their clothing.
So far, police have received ten separate reports of sexual assaults within the area. On each occasion the suspect has been on an e-scooter at the time of the offence.
Detective Constable Lucy Dunwell from CID based at Hackney said: “We recognise the concern this will cause amongst the local community. I understand that many who live, walk and run within this area will be fearful after hearing about these incidents and I assure you that we are working tirelessly to identify the man responsible.
“Our officers are working closely with Hackney Council to increase patrols in the area to provide reassurance and support. Anyone who visits the area is encouraged to keep their phone charged, remain aware of their surroundings and always call police in an emergency.
“We have issued images of a man that we would like to speak to in relation to this investigation. If you can help identify him then please call 101 or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers. In an emergency always dial 999. Similarly, if you have witnessed or been a victim of sexual assault then please come forward so you can be supported and the matter can be investigated.”
