Witness appeal following an assault on Manchester/ Stockport train

British Transport Police officers are appealing for witnesses following an assault on board a train between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport stations.

At around 10pm on the evening of Saturday 29 April, the victim, a 43-year-old man was standing next to the onboard toilet when he was violently assaulted.

He remains concussed with severe eye pain and requires dental surgery as a result of the injuries he sustained in the attack.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or has any information, to come forward and assist the investigation.
