Procurement reform update: April 2023

On 28 March, the Minister for Finance and Local Government led the debate on the Legislative Consent Memorandum (LCMs) in relation to the Procurement Bill in the Senedd. For those who missed it, a recording and transcript of the debate is available.

The debate was an important milestone in the Bill’s legislative journey in Wales.

As the Senedd has consented to the core procurement provisions within the Bill, we will continue to develop the learning and development to support the implementation of the Bill. We will also prepare systems ahead of the proposed changes required as part of Procurement Reform.

We will continue to develop the secondary legislation that is required through the Bill and will keep you informed of key dates and milestones.
